The Positive Effect of Slowing Down the Speed of your Inner Process

Neuroscience for Peak Performance – Chapter 5

Most athletes have never stopped to consider that the speed of their internal mental processes is independent from the speed of what is occurring around them or the speed with which their body needs to move.

Once they realise that this is the case, it opens the door to a new possibility and potencial.

The slower you can maintain your mental processes the greater time and clarity it gives you to read the situation, see possibilities, make winning decisions and realise precise actions. It is as if your mind can work in slow motion whilst your body moves with velocity and precision.

In this video Iván talks about his personal experiences with the work we did to give him control over his inner speed and the positive effect that it has had on his game.
